The GeForce Recap: NVIDIA’s Drivers, DLSS 4.5, and RTX Spark From July 2026

The first edition of a weekly digest of NVIDIA's own GeForce announcements. This one catches up on July 2026: three R610 drivers, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction due in August, the RTX Spark mini-workstation, and NVIDIA App capture upgrades, with every claim linked back to NVIDIA's own post and separated into shipped now versus promised later.

July 2026 gave NVIDIA users three R610 drivers, a DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction model announced for August, the RTX Spark mini-workstation, and NVIDIA App updates that matter more than their changelog suggests. This first edition catches up on the whole month rather than a single week; from the next one on, the window is seven days. Everything here comes from NVIDIA's own posts on its own channel, so specification numbers and performance figures are the company's claims until independent testing confirms them, and each item links back to where NVIDIA said it.

Drivers: the R610 branch

NVIDIA shipped three Game Ready drivers on the R610 branch over roughly six weeks. The pattern is a game-launch driver, a maintenance driver, then a bug-fix driver.

The 610.88 release is the one to read the notes on, because most of it is cleanup rather than new-game support. The most useful line resolves game crashes in Halo: Campaign Evolved on RTX 50 Series cards running the earlier R610 drivers, which describes a regression the branch introduced on itself in 610.62 or 610.74 and then corrected. It also resolves intermittent long pauses in Path of Exile 2 after extended DirectX 12 sessions, the kind of after-hours bug a quick benchmark never catches, and lists stability work for Silent Hill F. Worth knowing before you install: independent coverage from TweakTown notes it does not resolve the Battlefield 6 Season 4 crashing, so it is a broad bug-fix driver but not the fix for that specific problem.

DLSS 4.5 and Ray Reconstruction

NVIDIA announced an updated DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction model at Computex, the AI denoiser that reconstructs ray-traced and path-traced images. NVIDIA states the new model has 35% more compute capability and processes 20% more parameters than its predecessor, and says it is coming in August 2026. Treat both the quality gain those numbers imply and the date as NVIDIA's own claims until it ships and gets tested.

Around it, the company put numbers on the ecosystem: over 1,000 RTX games and apps now available, 11 new titles announced with DLSS 4.5 support, and Ray Reconstruction coming to Blender 5.3 this fall for the creator side. The practical read is that DLSS 4.5 itself is already in shipping games, while the improved Ray Reconstruction model is the part still on the calendar.

RTX Spark: a Blackwell mini-workstation

RTX Spark is a small Blackwell-based system NVIDIA positions for local AI, gaming, and creative work. Per the Computex announcement, it pairs a Blackwell RTX GPU of 6,144 CUDA cores with a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU, quotes up to 1 petaflop of AI compute, and carries 128 GB of unified memory in a chassis as thin as 14 millimeters and about 3 pounds. Availability is Fall 2026 through ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, and MSI, with Acer and GIGABYTE to follow.

The 128 GB of unified memory is the headline for anyone doing local inference, because unified memory is what lets larger models fit without a discrete card's VRAM ceiling. The petaflop figure is a sparse-AI throughput number, not a gaming metric, so read it as an AI-workload claim rather than a frame-rate one.

NVIDIA App: capture and local AI

The NVIDIA App got capture and local-AI updates. ShadowPlay gains 4K 240 FPS recording on GeForce RTX 50 and 40 Series GPUs with dual NVENC encoders, and 1440p 240 FPS on single-NVENC systems, which is a real use of the second encoder that higher-end Blackwell and Ada cards carry. On the local-AI side, NVIDIA quotes 2x performance in llama.cpp and 2.6x in vLLM, both common local-inference runtimes; as with every figure here, those are NVIDIA's benchmarks on NVIDIA's configuration.

Games worth noting

Halo: Campaign Evolved launched July 28 with DLSS and ray tracing, alongside Mistfall Hunter; and Gears of War: E-Day was dated for October 6 with DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing under a technical partnership, with a multiplayer beta earlier.

On the professional side

NVIDIA also moved its professional Blackwell line, making the RTX PRO 5000 72GB generally available, and its top workstation card kept climbing in price on the GDDR7 shortage. What is usable today out of all that: the 610.88 driver and its fixes, DLSS 4.5 in currently shipping games, the NVIDIA App capture and local-AI updates, and Halo: Campaign Evolved. Everything else still has a date attached rather than a download, with the improved Ray Reconstruction model stated for August 2026, Ray Reconstruction in Blender 5.3 this fall, RTX Spark systems in fall 2026, and Gears of War: E-Day on October 6.
